Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Electrical fundamentals training preferred.
  • OSHA 10 preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to report to assigned job sites.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and related electrical components.
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents.
  • Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of solar PV systems.
  • Assist with testing and commissioning electrical systems for safety and functionality.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Participate in apprenticeship classes, training programs, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

MARS Energy Solutions is seeking motivated individuals interested in building a long-term career in the electrical and renewable energy industries. As a Solar Electrician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced electricians and solar professionals to learn the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

This is a paid apprenticeship opportunity that combines classroom education with hands‑on field experience. MARS Energy Solutions covers the cost of apprenticeship enrollment, computer/books, and class time as well as provide on‑site training for 40 hours per week.

This position offers a unique opportunity to earn while you learn and develop the skills necessary to advance into a Journeyman Electrician or Solar Electrician career path.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation of solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and related electrical components.
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents.
  • Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of solar PV systems.
  • Assist with testing and commissioning electrical systems for safety and functionality.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Participate in apprenticeship classes, training programs, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Utilize personal hand tools necessary to perform assigned tasks. Company‑provided specialty equipment and safety gear will be supplied.
  • Work locations are project‑based and subject to change based on business needs. Candidates should be prepared to travel to various job sites throughout the Midwest region as assigned.
  • Current project assignments are primarily prevailing wage; however, employees may be assigned to non‑prevailing wage projects in the future based on business and operational needs.

Education:

  • High school diploma required
  • Electrical fundamentals training preferred
  • OSHA 10 preferred

Experience:

  • General construction experience preferred
  • Solar experience strongly preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 70 pounds.

  • This position requires travel to assigned project sites based on business needs.
  • Work locations are project-based and subject to change throughout employment depending on customer requirements, project demands, and operational needs.
