Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is hiring a Licensed Therapist (LPHA) for our Dual Diagnosis Residential Program. You will conduct independent assessments and interventions based on treatment plans and consumer needs.

Responsibilities include CBT, crisis intervention, advocacy, and coordination to ensure services meet eligibility and regulatory guidelines. A Texas-licensed clinician with post-master’s experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social, behavior, or human service field (psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, human development, education).
• Licensed in Texas as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT is required or preferred.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience post Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors consumer progress toward treatment goals and evaluates intervention effectiveness.
• Performs clinical assessments to determine eligibility and treatment needs.
• Provides cognitive behavioral therapy to reduce symptoms of mental illness and improve daily functioning.
• Offers crisis intervention to prevent admission to higher levels of care.
• Trains and educates on mental illness and related problems affecting functioning.
• Assists consumers in gaining access to necessary care and services.
• Contributes to treatment formulation including assessment, planning, and discharge planning.
• Ensures services meet eligibility criteria and regulatory guidelines.
• Advocates for consumer needs within The Harris Center and the community.
• Communicates respectfully with consumers and staff and respects cultural diversity.
• Completes reporting and training as designated and meets productivity standards.
