Job summary

SAM is seeking a licensed Staff Surveyor to join the Pittsburgh area team. This mid-level PA-licensed professional will focus on all technical aspects of surveying, with emphasis on final deliverables and QA/QC.

The role supports boundary, ALTA/NSPS, boundary evidence, and ROW tasks in a remote, hybrid, or office setup. The ideal candidate has PA reciprocity or licensure ability, a surveying degree, and experience with Civil 3D, Trimble, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Pennsylvania or eligible via reciprocity.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
• Experience with boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, and ROW surveys; strong boundary law knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and oversee boundary, easement, plat, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, ROW surveys.
• Analyze deeds, boundary evidence, parcel records, and right-of-way documents.
• Establish and verify survey control networks; oversee field data collection.
• Perform survey calculations and coordinate geometry; answer QA/QC reviews.
• Prepare and finalize legal descriptions and easement documents; sign deliverables.
• Ensure QA/QC of field data, calculations, CADD deliverables, and final products.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, company standards, and best practices.
