Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. seeks a licensed clinician (LMSW/LCSW-C or LGPC/LCPC) to join the medical department at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, MD.

The role focuses on clinical monitoring, coordinating mental health services, and serving as the liaison between the medical unit and facility staff. Responsibilities include conducting clinical and risk assessments, developing treatment plans, referring to psychiatry when needed, and ensuring NCCHC standard compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, or LCSW-C in Maryland.
• Minimum of two years of experience.
• Master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals with mental status exams and treatment planning.
• Perform risk assessments using structured interviews and tools for suicide/self-harm risk.
• Serve as PCM mental health liaison between medical unit and facility staff.

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. (i.e., PCM) is a privately owned, physician founded, nationally accredited correctional healthcare practice. We are actively recruiting for a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW-C) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LGPC or LCPC) to work in the medical department at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, MD.

This is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

Job Responsibilities

In this role the clinician is responsible for the clinical monitoring, coordinating and implementing of the mental health program in accordance with NCCHC standards and will serve as the mental health liaison between the medical unit and facility staff.

• Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals. Assessments include documentation of findings, including at a minimum a mental status examination and case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan. Makes referrals to psychiatry when appropriate.
• Risk assessments are to be conducted utilizing structured interviews and risk assessment tools. Inmates at risk for suicide and/or engaging in self-harm are managed utilizing existing protocols according to current policy and procedures.
• Serve as the PrimeCare Medical (PCM) mental health liaison for mental health services, outside the facility.
• Facilitates admission and placement of inmates/patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
• Monitors all mental health services provided.
• Monitors clinical services to ensure that standards of care are in accordance with NCCHC and accepted psychiatric/ psychological standards.
• Is a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Develops and conducts in-service education programs according to annual in-service calendar.
• Collects data and prepares monthly reports, which reflect performance

• Salaries are negotiable and commensurate based on experience. Annual Salary range is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00. Shift Differential is offered in addition for hours work in the evening.

• Generous PTO package provided. Paid time off will accrue for a maximum accrual of nine (9) days (or 72 hours) per year. You are also eligible to accrue sick and safe leave benefits under Maryland’s Healthy Working Families Act (i.e., MDSSL). MDSSL accrues at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours of straight time worked, for a maximum annual accrual of sixty-four (64) hours.
  

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience
• Must hold a master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Service field with a concentration in clinical course work, training and/or experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience & experience with substance abuse/MAT (i.e., medicated assisted treatment) preferred.
