Job summary

PrimeCare Medical in Easton, PA seeks a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or LMSW/LCSW to serve as Behavioral Health Professional at Northampton County Prison. This 40-hour role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, focusing on clinical assessment, risk evaluation, and coordination of mental health services.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, managing at-risk inmates, liaising with external mental health services, placement when needed, and reporting on performance and standards

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a LPC, LSW, or LCSW in Pennsylvania.
• Master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Service field with clinical coursework.
• Minimum of two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals with documentation including mental status, diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Perform risk assessments using structured interviews and tools; manage inmates at risk for suicide or self-harm.
• Serve as PCM mental health liaison for services outside the facility.
• Facilitate admission and placement of inmates/patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
• Monitor all mental health services and ensure standards align with NCCHC and psychiatric/psychological guidelines.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Develop and conduct in-service education programs as per annual calendar.
• Collect data and prepare monthly performance reports.

PrimeCare Medical is currently looking for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW) to work as a Behavioral Health Professional in the medical department at the Northampton County Prison located in Easton, PA.

This a 40-hour position, Monday - Friday weekly, during normal business hours. (8:00am- 4:30pm).

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals. Assessments include documentation of findings, including at a minimum a mental status examination and case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan. Makes referrals to psychiatry when appropriate.
• Risk assessments are to be conducted utilizing structured interviews and risk assessment tools. Inmates at risk for suicide and / or engaging in self-harm are managed utilizing existing protocols according to current policy and procedures.
• Serve as the PrimeCare Medical (PCM) mental health liaison for mental health services, outside the facility.
• Facilitates admission and placement of inmates/patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
• Monitors all mental health services provided.
• Monitors clinical services to ensure that standards of care are in accordance with NCCHC, and accepted psychiatric/ psychological standards.
• Is a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Develops and conducts in-service education programs according to annual in-service calendar.
• Collects data and prepares monthly reports, which reflect performance.

• Salaries are negotiable and commensurate based on experience. Annual Salary range is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a LPC, LSW, or LCSW in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Must hold a Master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Service field with a concentration in clinical course work, training and/or experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience.
