Job summary

PrimeCare Medical is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW/LCSW) to serve as a Behavioral Health Professional in the Washington County Jail, Washington, PA. The role is 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, in a hospital/medical department setting.

Responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, risk evaluations, acting as a mental health liaison, and coordinating admissions to forensic facilities when required.

Qualifications

• Licensed as LPC, LSW, or LCSW in Pennsylvania.
• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, or related field with clinical focus.
• Minimum of two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals, documenting findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Perform risk assessments using structured interviews and tools; manage inmates at risk for suicide or self-harm per policy.
• Serve as PCM mental health liaison for outside facility services and coordinate admissions to forensic hospitals when needed.
• Monitor all mental health services and ensure standards of care per NCCHC and psychiatric/psychological guidelines.
• Participate in Quality Assurance and develop in-service education programs.
• Collect data and prepare monthly performance reports.

Job description

PrimeCare Medical is currently looking for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW or LCSW) to work as a Behavioral Health Professional in the medical department at the Washington County Jail located in Washington, PA.

This a 40-hour position, Monday - Friday weekly, during normal business hours. (8:00am-4:30pm).

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals. Assessments include documentation of findings, including at a minimum a mental status examination and case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan. Makes referrals to psychiatry when appropriate.
• Risk assessments are to be conducted utilizing structured interviews and risk assessment tools. Inmates at risk for suicide and / or engaging in self-harm are managed utilizing existing protocols according to current policy and procedures.
• Serve as the PrimeCare Medical (PCM) mental health liaison for mental health services, outside the facility.
• Facilitates admission and placement of inmates/patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
• Monitors all mental health services provided.
• Monitors clinical services to ensure that standards of care are in accordance with NCCHC, and accepted psychiatric/ psychological standards.
• Is a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Develops and conducts in-service education programs according to annual in-service calendar.
• Collects data and prepares monthly reports, which reflect performance.

• Salaries are negotiable and commensurate based on experience. Annual Salary range is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a LPC, LSW, or LCSW in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Must hold a Master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Service field with a concentration in clinical course work, training and/or experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience.
