Job summary

Odyssey House Inc in New York is seeking a Licensed Social Worker to provide individual and group counseling in a residential treatment setting. You will address a wide range of clinical and community needs and assist residents and families in accessing resources.

The role requires state licensure, a Master’s degree, and strong communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. A 35-hour work week, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy with one year experience in a social services setting providing group counseling, family therapy and case management with chemically dependent clients required.
• NY Licensure as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor or Marriage and Family Therapist required; candidates may obtain during probation period.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual assessment and counseling addressing family, medical, psychiatric, and housing concerns.
• Conduct evidence-based group counseling for clinical and community issues.
• Maintain up-to-date resident charts including assessments, treatment plans, and case notes.
• Provide crisis intervention services.
• Assist in discharge planning and resident progression.
• Offer additional therapeutic services through observation and evaluation of engagement.
• Establish community and agency affiliations to address resident needs.
• Educate and support families related to resident issues.
