Job summary

Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, NC is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to join our rehabilitation team in a full-time capacity. You will assess residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs to develop individualized treatment plans.

As part of an interdisciplinary care team, you will provide therapy, monitor progress, document outcomes, educate residents and families, and support daily functioning through evidence-based strategies

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• Current North Carolina SLP licensure.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• A commitment to individualized, compassionate care.
• Ability to work effectively with residents and an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and functional goals.
• Provide therapy to address communication challenges, cognitive skills, and safe swallowing.
• Monitor progress and modify treatment approaches when clinically appropriate.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Coordinate with nursing staff, physicians, families, and other rehabilitation professionals.
• Recommend appropriate strategies, exercises, and adaptive techniques to support daily functioning.
• Educate residents, families, and care team members on communication support and swallowing precautions.
• Participate in care planning and contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical care.
