Job summary

Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, NC is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist for a full-time rehab position. You will assess and treat residents’ speech, language, cognition, and swallowing, developing individualized plans and collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes compassionate, resident-centered care, documentation, and ongoing education to support communication and safe swallowing.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• Current, valid North Carolina SLP licensure.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• A commitment to individualized, compassionate care.
• Ability to work effectively with residents and an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and functional goals.
• Provide therapy to address communication challenges, cognitive skills, and safe swallowing.
• Monitor progress and modify treatment approaches when clinically appropriate.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Coordinate with nursing staff, physicians, families, and other rehabilitation professionals.
• Recommend strategies, exercises, and adaptive techniques to support daily functioning.
• Educate residents, families, and care team members on communication support and swallowing precautions.
• Participate in care planning and maintain high standards of clinical care.
