Sigma Health Rehab in New York is hiring a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The PTA provides rehabilitative therapy under the supervision of a licensed PT and contributes to patient goals in geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA license.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new graduates welcome with fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record resident mobility, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist with specific exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with laws and professional standards.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.
