Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility in New York. This full-time position supports licensed therapists and delivers patient-centered care to our residents.

Ideal candidates will be a graduate of an accredited PTA program with an active New York PTA license. Prior SNF or geriatric care experience is preferred, but new grads with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new graduates with fieldwork welcome.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
