Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections at SCI Smithfield to lead the Psychology Department’s services and testing programs. You will supervise staff, develop therapy initiatives, and guide clinical practices for inmate mental health.

Qualifications

• One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist; or
• One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
• You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or licensure from another state with acceptable requirements; PA licensure within one year.

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) Smithfield is seeking a highly motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, to join our Psychology Department. This position offers a meaningful way to support inmate well-being while guiding key mental health services. As LPM, you will be responsible for the overall administration of SCI’s psychological services program. You will join a dedicated team at SCI Smithfield that values expertise and steady leadership. This position oversees and directs psychological services programs within SCI Smithfield, ensuring high quality care and effective clinical practices across the institution. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, you will perform the following duties:

• Program Development: Shape psychological services programs, integrate new procedures, and manage counseling and research initiatives

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist; or
• One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.

Special Requirement:

• You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
