Job summary

HAN Staff is seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician in San Diego, CA to join a correctional healthcare team. The role offers a competitive pay rate of $47.85 per hour on a W2 basis and a Monday-Sunday shift pattern starting Wednesday to Sunday, 2pm–10:30pm, in a secure correctional setting.

The position requires an active California license, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and comprehensive documentation including PSV, BLS, immunization records, and other client-specific

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• Copy of current PSV from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to patients with mental health conditions.
• Monitor patient behavior, mood, and vital signs.
• Assist with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, mobility).
• Administer medications as directed and within scope of practice.
• Support patients during therapy and treatment activities.
• Report changes in patient condition to nurses or physicians.
• Maintain patient safety and prevent self-harm or injury.
• Document patient care and observations.
• Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Follow treatment plans and facility protocols.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
