Job summary

HAN Staff in Susanville, CA is seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join our correctional healthcare team. The role delivers basic nursing care to patients with mental health conditions, monitors vital signs, assists with daily living activities, administers medications, and supports therapy and treatment activities.

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• Copy of PSV from the licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunizations).

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to patients with mental health conditions.
• Monitor patient behavior, mood, and vital signs.
• Assist with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, mobility).
• Administer medications as directed and within scope of practice.
• Support patients during therapy and treatment activities.
• Report changes in patient condition to nurses or physicians.
• Maintain patient safety and prevent self-harm or injury.
• Document patient care and observations.
• Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Follow treatment plans and facility protocols.

Licensed Psychiatric Technician Duties & Responsibilities:
