This Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is located at the Grand Island VA Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska. This LPN works under the direction of an RN as a member of a Primary Care team, providing basic and specialized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of physical, mental, behavioral, or psychological needs.

Qualifications

Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.

Basic Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an approved school of practical or vocational nursing.
• Licensure: Full, active, current, and unrestricted licensure as an LPN or LVN in the U.S.

Grade Determinations

The full performance level is GS-06. The applicable grade level will be determined based on your experience and qualifications, ranging from GS-03 to GS-06.

Additional Grade Levels

• GS-03: Basic requirements only.
• GS-04: May qualify with six months of experience or graduation plus one year of relevant experience.
• GS-05: Must have completed at least 1 year of experience at GS-04 level, demonstrating comprehensive nursing skills and knowledge.
• GS-06: Must have completed at least 1 year of experience at GS-05 level, demonstrating proficiency in patient care and emergency response.

Preferred Experience: Primary Care or Medical-Surgical experience is preferred but not required.
