GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role provides quality care to patients and families to promote health and prevent disease under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs general nursing care according to nursing practice standards. (30%)
  2. Assists with preparing equipment and supports physicians/clinical providers during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. (20%)
  3. Collects assessment data, prepares patients for examinations, and documents clinical information. (20%)
  4. Orders diagnostic tests as directed by registered nurses or physicians, and reviews results prior to assessment. (20%)
  5. Schedules procedures and obtains necessary authorizations. (5%)
  6. Administers injections or medications, collects laboratory specimens, and prepares them for testing. (5%)
  7. Performs additional duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Current state licensure as an LPN or multi-state licensure through the Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.

Preferred

  • At least 1 year of healthcare experience.
  • State-approved IV certification.
  • Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment processes.
  • PALS or ACLS certification may be required depending on the area of practice.
