Responsible for providing direct patient care, ongoing education, reinforcement of care plans, and general support in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of the patient’s physician or LIP/RN designee, in accordance with policy, procedure, and competency to promote patient health and wellness. This position serves all age populations, demonstrating understanding of the developmental age of individuals served.
Medical Assistants provide clinical support, assist with administrative tasks, and support in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of the patient’s physician or LIP/RN designee, following policy, procedure, and competency to promote patient health and wellness. Duties include patient care, vital signs, assisting licensed professionals, laboratory tests, quality control, and clinical intake. Service is provided to all age groups, respecting developmental age considerations.
Education: Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
Experience: None required.
Licensure: Licensed as an LPN in Virginia prior to onboarding. BLS certification from AHA.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or military experience with certification eligibility.
Experience: Preferred but not required.
Licensure: Current certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, ARMA, or NHA within 6 months of hire; BLS certification from AHA required at hire.
Standing for long periods, frequent travel, bending/stooping, lifting/pushing/pulling 20-50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
