Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses the full patient experience: pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure, including work in the surgery suite. Responsibilities include:

• Retrieving patient records promptly upon request
• Managing collection, processing, storage, and access to patient and clinical records
• Assisting with pre-operative and post-operative visits
• Supporting RN with opening and closing duties
• Preparing instruments, equipment, and the operating room
• Charting surgery and progress notes
• Supporting physicians during procedures as needed
• Cleansing and sterilizing operating rooms and instruments
• Explaining treatment procedures, medications, and physician instructions to patients and caregivers
• Scheduling follow-up appointments
• Maintaining appropriate medical supplies

Physical Demands

• Use of communication devices such as telephones and computers
• Good vision and hearing acuity
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Valid and current State LVN/LPN License
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire, maintained annually
• Clinical judgment regarding wound assessment, infection signs, bleeding, and healing
• Ability to interpret instructions in various formats
• Strong report and correspondence writing skills
• Problem-solving and logical reasoning abilities
• Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel
• Basic math skills

Education

Graduation from an accredited LVN/LPN program and successful passing of the state licensing exam.

Experience

• Less than 1 year as an LVN/LPN
• Cosmetic surgery center experience is a plus
