Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Telemetry team on a 21-bed unit. You will work under an RN, contributing to patient assessments, care plans, and medication administration on a 12-hour shift schedule with every-other-weekend rotation.

The role emphasizes cardiology telemetry and coordination with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care while supporting flexible staffing and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina LPN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new PSOR before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of Telemetry or Cardiac experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, assist in patient assessment by collecting data for RN analysis.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including wound care and specimen collection.
• May administer medications as directed.
• Document patient care accurately in records.
• Assist RN with developing and adjusting the plan of care.
• Aid patients with activities of daily living and personal care.

The 21-Bed unit features self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. How you'll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state LPN license. Associate's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred (Telemetry or Cardiac)
