Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is actively seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Telemetry unit. The 21-bed unit provides cardiac and telemetry monitoring, with self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation to support work-life balance.

Under RN supervision, you will collect data, participate in plan of care, perform wound care, and assist with activities of daily living while delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina LPN license.
• Associate's degree preferred but not required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of telemetry or cardiac experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, collect data for assessment and contribute to the plan of care.
• Administer medications and perform wound care as directed.
• Document patient care and monitor status during telemetry.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.

The Telemetry team at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a supportive, team-oriented culture where nurses collaborate closely to provide exceptional cardiac and telemetry care. The 21- Bed unit features self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. 21- Bed Unit

• 4:1 Patient Ratio
• 12 Hour Shifts

How you'll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state LPN license. Associate's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina LPN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACL S and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred (Telemetry or Cardiac)
