Job summary

Interim HealthCare Inc. is seeking a School Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a student in the Hazelton, PA area. The role involves administering medications, health procedures, and responding to medical emergencies in collaboration with educators and families.

You will develop individualized health care plans, monitor students' health, and participate in IEP meetings, providing health input to educational planning. A PA LPN license and pediatric experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing License in the State of PA (LPN).
• Minimum One Year Pediatric Experience.
• Minimum One Year long term care or similar experience.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment screenings (drug tests and background checks).

Responsibilities

• Provide Direct Medical Care: Administer Medications, Perform Health Procedures, and Respond to Medical Emergencies for Students with Chronic or Acute Health Needs.
• Develop and Implement Health Plans: Create and Maintain IHPS and Emergency Action Plans with Educators and Families.
• Monitor Student Health Needs: Track and Assess Students' Physical and Emotional Health, including those with disabilities or special medical conditions.
• Educate on Health and Hygiene: Teach Students Basic Hygiene, Self-care, and Life Skills Related to Health.
• Support Special Education Teams: Participate in IEP Meetings and Provide Health-related Input for Educational Planning.
• Promote a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Ensure the Classroom Is Safe and Accessible, Train Staff on Health Protocols.

• Specialty: General Personal Care, Medications, and Epilepsy
• Salary up to $33 per hour
• Monday through Friday, follow district schedule
• average 6.5 to 8 hour days

Essential Functions for the School Based Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Provide Direct Medical Care: Administer Medications, Perform Health Procedures, and Respond to Medical Emergencies for Students with Chronic or Acute Health Needs.
• Develop and Implement Health Plans: Create and Maintain Individualized Health Care Plans (IHPS) and Emergency Action Plans (IEPs) in Collaboration with Educators and Families.

Minimum Requirements for the School Based Licensed Practical Nurse LPN:

• Current Nursing License in the State of Pa
• Minimum One (1) Year Pediatric Experience
• Minumum One (1) Year long term care or similar experience
• CPR certification
• Valid Driver's License
• Willing to Undergo Pre-employment Screenings (which includes drug testing, various background checks, etc) and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
