Job summary

Interim Healthcare of NEPA seeks a School Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a student in the Hazelton, PA area. The role covers administering medications, health plans, and collaboration with educators to ensure student health needs are met.

Flexible scheduling and district-aligned hours are noted. Requirements include PA LPN license, pediatric and LTC experience, CPR, valid driver’s license, and pre-employment screenings with potential lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing License in the State of PA.
• Minimum One (1) Year Pediatric Experience
• Minimum One (1) Year long term care or similar experience
• CPR certification
• Valid Driver's License
• Willing to Undergo Pre-employment Screenings (which includes drug testing, various background checks, etc) and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide Direct Medical Care: Administer Medications, Perform Health Procedures, and Respond to Medical Emergencies for Students with Chronic or Acute Health Needs.
• Develop and Implement Health Plans: Create and Maintain IHPS and Emergency Action Plans in Collaboration with Educators and Families.
• Monitor Student Health Needs: Track and Assess Students' Physical and Emotional Health, Especially Those with Disabilities or Special Medical Conditions.
• Educate on Health and Hygiene: Teach Students Basic Hygiene, Self-care, and Life Skills Related to Health, Tailored to Developmental and Cognitive Levels.
• Support Special Education Teams: Participate in IEP Meetings and Provide Health-related Input for Students' Educational Planning.
• Promote a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Ensure the Classroom Is Safe and Accessible, Train Staff on Health Protocols, and Advocate for Students’ Health-related Needs.

• Specialty: General Personal Care, Medications, and Epilepsy
• Salary up to $33 per hour
• Monday through Friday, follow district schedule
• average 6.5 to 8 hour days

Essential Functions for the School Based Licensed Practical Nurse:
