Job description

This Licensed Practical Nurse position works under the direction of an RN and reports to the primary care manager at the Richard L. Roudebush VAMC in Indianapolis, IN. The LPN is responsible for observing, recording, and reporting changes in the patient's condition, as well as assisting in developing and revising the patient-driven holistic care plan for life.

Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Compressed/Flexible: Not Available

Pay: Competitive salary with regular increases. Higher step rates may be considered based on qualifications or needs.

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days annually (including leave, sick leave, and holidays).

Applicants may qualify for credit toward leave accrual based on prior experience.

Parental Leave: Up to 12 weeks paid parental leave after 12 months of employment.

Child Care Subsidy: Available after 60 days for eligible employees with income below $144,000, up to 25% of childcare costs.

Retirement: Federal pension and 401K with up to 5% VA contributions.

Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, life, and long-term care.

Basic Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens only if recruitment is not possible otherwise)
  • English Proficiency
  • Education: Graduate of an approved practical or vocational nursing program, or military healthcare training accepted by licensing body, or licensed with at least one year of practice if not from an approved school.
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse in the U.S.

May qualify under VA Grandfathering Provision.
