Cascades at Riverwalk in Midvale, Utah, is seeking a part-time LPN for evening shifts. The role involves administering medications, documenting care, and maintaining facility policies to ensure resident safety.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active LPN license, CPR certification, and experience in geriatric long-term care. Strong communication and customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, and hold an active LPN license.
• Prefer experience in long-term geriatric nursing care.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English-language information.
• Clear verbal communication and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, document medications, tests, and treatments.
• Record time spent on treatments and enter data into EMR.
• Maintain proper storage and security of medications.
• Notify physician of adverse reactions, refusals, or non-compliance.
• Keep medication cart, refrigerations, and rooms clean and organized.
• Dispose of sharps safely.
• Follow infection control and universal precautions.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and disasters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and the medication stored properly
• Ensures the correct disposal of all sharps
• Key information into computer systems including EMR
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures
• React appropriately to emergency and disaster situations
• Other duties as necessary and assigned

What we're looking for:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current, active license as an LPN
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care, preferred
• Current CPR Certification
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Must be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement and weight measurement
• Must have empathy along with exceptional communication and customer service skills
