Job summary

Cascades at Riverwalk in Midvale, Utah is seeking an LPN for a part-time weekend schedule (Sunday and Thursday, 6a–6p). You will provide nursing care in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting, including medication administration, documentation, and patient monitoring.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, active LPN license.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in long-term geriatric care preferred.
• Strong reading, writing and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments.
• Record time spent on treatments per policy and record in EMR.
• Ensure proper storage and security of medications.
• Notify physician of any adverse reactions or non-compliance.
• Keep medication cart and room clean and organized.
• Dispose of sharps safely and properly.
• Enter key information into computer systems/EMR.
• Follow infection control and safety policies; respond to emergencies.

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and the medication stored properly
• Ensures the correct disposal of all sharps
• Key information into computer systems including EMR
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures
• React appropriately to emergency and disaster situations
• Other duties as necessary and assigned

What we're looking for:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current, active license as an LPN
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care, preferred
• Current CPR Certification
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Must be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement and weight measurement
• Must have empathy along with exceptional communication and customer service skills
