Job summary

Paris Regional, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for Medical Surgical units in Paris, Texas. You will deliver hands-on patient care, support development of the care plan, and collaborate with RNs and other clinicians to ensure quality outcomes.

Requirements include an active Texas LVN license, an associates degree in nursing, BLS within 30 days, and ACLS/PALS within six months.

Qualifications

• Current state LVN license in Texas.
• Associates degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to patient assessment by collecting data for RN review.
• Performs plan-of-care interventions including wound care and specimen collection.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Assists RN with development of the plan of care.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Monitors and communicates patient status to the RN, physician, patient and family.
• Advocates for patient physical and emotional well‑being.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular attendance and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

Essential Functions

• Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state LVN license and possess a associatesdegree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
