Southridge Behavioral Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI seeks Licensed Practical Nurses for full-time night shift to join a joint venture with Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services. Eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus and student loan repayment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory, with psychiatric experience desired.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in providing general nursing care.
• Current LPN Licensure in the State of Michigan required.

Description

Licensed Practical Nurses LPN carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor:

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan.
• Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Partners with RN with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medication and treatments to patients. Assists with medication education, informed consent and monitoring the effectiveness and efficacy of medications. Documents the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.

Hours and Location

Full Time Night Shift. 3 12-hour shifts, 7pm-7:30am. Every other weekend rotation.
