Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Family Practice Clinic full time. Under RN supervision you will perform data collection, wound care, specimen collection, and medication administration to support patient care.

This role emphasizes timely documentation, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with the care team to develop and implement plans of care, assist with daily living activities, and coordinate appointments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
• Current LPN/PN license to practice in Kentucky.
• BCLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10/CPT codes and insurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules, appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.
• Attend clinic meetings.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Reports all incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate action.
• Completes safety instructional programs.
• Assist other team members when time permits.

What we are looking for:

• Current LPN/PN to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions

Certifications
