Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral of Jackson is actively seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our behavioral health team in Jackson, TN. The role focuses on compassionate nursing care for children, adolescents, and adults within a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient engagement, and collaboration with medical staff to plan individualized care. CPR certification and TN LPN licensure are required, with a preference for 1 year in behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Tennessee or eligible compact license.
• Preferred one year direct care experience in a behavioral health setting.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care as required.
• Develop a therapeutic relationship with residents.
• Distribute medications as prescribed and maintain MAR.
• Serve as a role model for residents and peers.
• Collaborate with physicians/psychotherapists for care planning.
• Model and teach life skills to patients.
• Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers under physician oversight.
• Intervene to de-escalate residents and ensure quality behavioral health care.

Job description

Perimeter Behavioral of Jackson has immediate openings for LPNs . We are seeking individuals who are committed to improving the lives of those with mental health illness.

The Licensed Practical Nurses’ responsibilities include the following:

• Provides general nursing care as required.


• Develops a therapeutic relationship with assigned residents.


• Distribute medication as prescribed and properly maintain the MARS.


• Serve as a role model for residents and peers.


• Establish and maintain professional contact with the resident’s physician and psychotherapist to assist in planning the resident’s care.


• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.


• Admits, discharges and transfers residents based on physician’s orders and sometimes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.


• Intervene appropriately to de-escalate residents as needed. Providing quality and excellent nursing care to assigned behavioral health children and adolescents

Qualified candidates for Licensed Practical Nurses should have the following:

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse License in the State of Tennessee or eligible compact license


• Prefer one-year direct care experience in a behavioral health setting.


• Must be CPR Certified
