Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension SaintThomas is seeking a Behavioral Health LPN to join our team. The position is full-time with a 3x12 schedule (7a–7p) and rotating weekends. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision and assist in assessments and care planning.

Requirements include a Tennessee LPN license (or compact), BLS within 30 days of hire, and a preference for 1 year of experience in a fast-paced setting. Competitive benefits are offered.

Overview

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as supervised by a registered nurse, following scope and standards of practice.
• Assist in patient assessment by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Perform plan‑of‑care interventions, including specimen collection, wound care, medication administration (as authorized), and documentation of patient care.
• Support RN in developing and executing care plans.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and response to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a current Tennessee or compact state LPN license and be a graduate of a Practical Nursing program. Additional requirements include:

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• One year of previous experience preferred.
• State of Tennessee LPN license.
• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
