Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to oversee resident care during assigned shifts and supervise CNAs in our Michigan facility.

You will coordinate and prioritize tasks, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as a resource for residents, families, and staff. Current LPN license and CPR certification are required.

• Supervises CNAs and staff, ensuring care quality.
• Plans and assigns work to meet resident needs and safety.
• Uses independent judgment per policy and laws.
• Schedules and coordinates staffing, and handles calls for replacements.

• Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety

• Completes performance evaluations for CNAs/STNAs
• Adjusts break schedules and resolves staff concerns
• Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing, overseeing and coordinating the delivery of resident care during assigned shifts in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policy under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing/designee. This role provides clinical supervision to nursing assistants, ensures continuity of care, and serves as a key resource for residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises CNAs/STNAs and other staff providing direct care

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current state license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment
