Job summary

New York Health (NYH) in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who is bilingual in English and Russian (preferred). You will support patient care across multiple settings, maintain EMR accuracy, and assist clinicians with exams and procedures. Flexible, full-time schedule with 8:30am–5:30pm shifts, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up-to-date vital signs, demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and diagnoses.
• Manage physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks in EMR.
• Assist in maintaining medical inventory and stock rooms.
• Prepare and administer injections and phlebotomy as needed.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and EKGs.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and provide education on medications and home treatments.

Job Description:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Bilingual English/Russian (Preferred)

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 8:30am-5:30pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH)

In This Role, You Will:

• Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up-to-date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses
• Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets
• Assist physician with exams and/or procedures
• Prepare and administer injections
• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
• Perform point of care lab testing
• Perform EKGs
• Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error
• Be cross-trained in infusion & intake

We Require:

• Current NYS LPN license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
• IV Competency required
• Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals
• Experience with EMR’s
• Reliable transportation to any of NYH locations for patient care needs
• Bilingual English/Russian (Preferred)
