Job summary

Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services in Hampton, VA. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM in a community-based setting.

You will join a multidisciplinary team providing nursing support to adults with mental health and substance use challenges, with opportunities to collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia LPN license.
• Minimum of 1 year experience administering medications in psych, substance use treatment, or long‑term care.
• Experience with dispensing and administering controlled/narcotic meds.

Responsibilities

• Assist the staff psychiatrist and treatment team with medication management.
• Administer and document medications according to policies and procedures.
• Conduct health screenings and nursing assessments.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and changes in health status.
• Provide health education and supportive nursing interventions.
• Communicate health and medication information to the treatment team.
• Maintain accurate medical and nursing documentation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support treatment goals.
• Provide respectful, person-centered care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Join the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) as a full-time LPN in our Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services program.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide nursing support to adults experiencing mental health and substance use challenges while working alongside psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, psychologists, and other professionals.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
• At least one year of experience administering medications in a psychiatric, substance use treatment, or long-term care setting.
• Experience with the dispensing and administration of controlled/narcotic medications.

What You'll Do

As an LPN, you will provide essential nursing support while helping to ensure clients receive safe, compassionate, and quality care. Responsibilities include:
