We are now hiring a talented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to make a difference working for a large, premier non-profit behavioral health organization that has served the community with distinction for over a century.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the CrisisCare Center is responsible for providing medical psychiatric assistance to adult consumers with mental illness or co-occurring disorders.

The LPN handles workflow processes, maintains confidentiality, demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate interventions, and works to minimize the disabling effects of mental illness and substance abuse disorders. The role involves empowering consumers to manage their health, prevent diseases, and improve overall wellness by implementing health strategies and incorporating disease management models addressing behavioral disorders.

• Requires completion of an LPN program and current certification as an LPN in Oklahoma.
• No previous experience required; experience with clients with mental illness or substance abuse is preferred.
• Knowledge of professional LPN care techniques, medical procedures, supplies, sanitation, personal hygiene, and nutrition.
• Skills in planning, organizing, and applying nursing care techniques for clients with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
• Able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, self-control, patience, and maintain a sympathetic relationship with clients.
• Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 pounds.
• Frequent repetitive motions including bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
• Must be able to stand or walk for a minimum of 8 hours during each shift.

CCBHC Model of Care

Family & Children’s Services aims to heal hurting children, strengthen families, and provide hope and recovery paths for those battling mental illness and addiction. The organization uses the innovative and dynamic Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, characterized by team-based and whole-person care for adults and children with complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Using multidisciplinary teams, staff collaborate to enhance client recovery, leading to better outcomes and quality of care through:

• Increased access to care and crisis services
• Expanded community mental health and substance use services
• Care Coordination and physical health screening for mental health clients
• Greater access to social services for clients’ economic and social needs
• Enhanced specialized services for veterans, high-need populations, and those impacted by the opioid crisis
