Job summary

Bedford Care Centers is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide compassionate nursing care for residents in a long-term care setting. The role includes supervising LPNs and nurse aides, administering medications and treatments, and monitoring residents’ progress and vital signs.

MS LPN license with LTC experience is preferred. The position is full-time, on-site, with comprehensive benefits and potential shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Current Practical Nursing license in good standing (MS).
• Experience in Long-Term Care nursing preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs.
• Provides information regarding changes in residents’ progress to the RN Supervisor.
• Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds.
• Charts residents’ progress, ailment, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations.
• Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by Physician and at a time convenient for the Resident.
• Assists with Resident ADL care as required.
• Performs physical observations of Residents and reports to RN; documents findings in medical record.
• Receives and records Physicians’ orders in medical record; ensures compliance with Physician’s orders.
• Communicates with other Departments to adequately meet Residents’ needs.
• Assists in infection control monitoring; complies with universal precautions and isolation procedures.
• Observes, monitors, instructs and supervises Nurse Aides

Qualifications and Skills:

Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.
