Job summary

Merakey’s outpatient Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program in Germantown, Philadelphia, seeks an LPN for a full-time role. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a mission-driven setting, supporting medication-assisted treatment and clinical services.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical/vocational nursing program.
• Current PA LPN or RN license.
• 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Minimum one year experience dispensing narcotic medication, preferably in substance abuse treatment.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer/dispense methadone per state and federal guidelines.
• Record administration/dispensing transactions accurately.
• Ensure treatment plan follows physician/medical director.
• Assess client response to treatment and dosage/interactions.
• Maintain medical records (charts, dosage records, progress notes, orders).
• Collect and prepare client specimens for point-of-care testing/external lab analysis.
• Provide emergency care as needed (CPR, PMAB, Emergency Medications).

The LPN will:

• Administer/dispense methadone per State and Federal Guidelines
• Ensure adequate recording of the administration/dispensing transaction
• Ensure that the treatment plan of the physician and/or medical director is being followed
• Assess client response to treatment and medication dosage/interactions
• Maintain all medical records including but not limited to individual charts, daily medicationcharts, dosage records, progress notes, Doctor's orders, etc., as required
• Collect and prepare client specimens for point of care testing/external lab analysis
• Provide emergency care as needed (CPR, PMAB, Emergency Medications)

A qualified candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Graduate from an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
• Current license as an LPN or RN in the Commonwealth of PA
• 1 year of nursing experience is required
• Minimum one (1) year experience with dispensing narcotic medication, preferably in substance abuse treatment including treatment of opioid dependence
• Current CPR certification

Preferred candidates will have:

• Experience with drawing labs, performing EKGs, wound care, and triage is preferred.
• Experience with chemically dependent population is preferred
