Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for Med-Surg. This full-time day shift (7a–7p) offers 12-hour shifts and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

You provide direct patient care under RN supervision, support safety and care coordination in a dynamic Med-Surg unit. Qualifications include a high school diploma, LPN/LVN license, IV and BW certifications within 90 days, current BLS, and healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
• IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Work experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside patient care in a Med-Surg environment.
• Monitor vital signs, patient status, and clinical changes.
• Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws.
• Support care plans and patient throughput.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance.
• Document care in EMR/EHR systems.
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly.

LPN / LVN – Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg / MST)

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Full-time | Days | 7a–7p | 12-Hour Shifts

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a dynamic Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg / MST) unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role supports patient safety, care coordination, and quality outcomes while enhancing the overall patient experience.

Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $27.00 to $30.75. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
