Primary Responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

The LPN is responsible for providing daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort of residents, including professional assessments, documentation, and assisting with management of nursing staff.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise and perform care assignments, routine skills, and procedures ensuring quality care
• Participate in developing and updating resident care plans, documenting progress, and recommending revisions
• Conduct daily and periodic visits to observe symptoms, medication reactions, etc.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, weights, and other relevant data
• Assist in staff orientation and ongoing training to maintain skill levels
• Report and document incidents, accidents, complaints, or allegations per facility policy using the designated system

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school and valid LPN license in good standing
• Understanding of safe, effective nursing practices within Indiana
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Excel, Word, etc.
• Personal integrity and tactful communication skills with residents, families, and staff
