Job summary

Bedford Care Centers seeks an LPN to provide nursing care to residents in our Mississippi nursing home. You will supervise other LPNs and nurse aides, administer medications, take vital signs, and document progress for RN oversight.

The role requires an active Mississippi Practical Nursing license, experience in long-term care preferred, strong patient communication, and commitment to quality resident care within a team environment. Full-time hours with competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments; takes vital signs.
• Informs RN Supervisor of resident progress changes.
• Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds.
• Charts residents' progress, ailments, medications, symptoms, incidents and observations.
• Schedules and provides treatments as advised by physician.
• Assists with resident ADL care.
• Observes and reports findings to RN; documents in medical record.
• Receives and records physician orders; ensures accuracy.
• Communicates with other departments to meet residents' needs.
• Assists in infection control; follows universal precautions.
• Supervises Nurse Aides and ensures care quality.

Job Summary:

Provides Nursing Care to Nursing Home Residents; supervises other LPN's and Nurse Aides.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs
• Provides information regarding changes in Residents' progress to the RN Supervisor
• Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds
• Charts Residents' progress, ailment, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations
• Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by Physician and at a time convenient for the Resident
• Assists with Resident ADL Care as required
• Performs physical observations of Residents and reports to RN; documents findings in medical record
• Receives and records Physicians' Orders in medical record; ensures compliance with Physician's Orders
• Communicates with other Departments to adequately meet Residents' needs
• Assists in Infection Control monitoring; complies with Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures
• Observes, monitors instructs and supervises Nurse Aides

Qualifications and Skills:

Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.
