Job description

We are hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our dynamic care team at Northbridge Health Care Center in Bridgeport!

Openings include 32 hours on 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 11p-7a, as well as a 24-hour shift on 11p-7a. Shift differentials are available for evenings, overnights, and weekends. Weekly pay!

The role of a Licensed Practical Nurse involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of an RN to residents and supervising the daily activities performed by nursing assistants to ensure the highest quality of care.

Experience & Education:
  • Must be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
  • New graduates are welcome!
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.
  • Maintain current resident care plans.
  • Follow physician’s orders and assist with treatments, dressings, and other medical procedures.
  • Transcribe and review physician’s orders promptly and accurately.
  • Visit residents daily to assess needs and document findings.
  • Administer medication safely and maintain control of all drugs.
  • Initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Ensure safety techniques are followed and facility equipment is cared for properly.
  • Contribute to effective communication and positive working and resident relations.
  • Protect residents’ health information in accordance with privacy policies.
  • Continue professional growth and demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the manager.
Specific Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with others.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and regulations related to long-term care.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement care programs.
  • Assessment skills and knowledge of drug actions and interactions.
  • Patience, tact, and enthusiasm for handling difficult residents.
  • Effective communication skills, especially in emergencies.
