Job summary

EmergencyMD is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Beloit Memorial Hospital Float Pool in Beloit, Wisconsin. The LPN will be responsible for patient assessments, organizing data and documentation, administering medications, and ensuring patient safety. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited LPN program with active Wisconsin licensure. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in emergency situations are also required. This role is eligible for benefits and involves a 1st shift schedule of 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NLN LPN school of nursing with active Wisconsin LPN licensure.
• CPR certified or certification within 3 months of hire.
• Completion of telemetry course/test within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to work independently and react calmly in emergencies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to ongoing assessments initiated by RN.
• Organize and document accurate patient assessment data.
• Follow nursing care plans and document patient treatments.
• Recognize and document significant behavioral changes.
• Administer medications safely to patients.
• Teach patients and families about care procedures.
• Respond to patient emergencies with sound judgment.

Beloit Health System is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Beloit Memorial Hospital in our Inpatient Float Pool.

• Shift: 1st
• Schedule: 7a-7p
• Hours per week: 24 hours per week

• Department: Beloit Memorial Hospital Float Pool

Responsibilities

• Makes effective contributions to RN initiated ongoing assessments.
• Organizes assessment data so they are accurate, complete and accessible.
• Follows nursing care plans and observes established policies and procedures to assure proper treatment and care of patients; initiates and records patient treatments in an accurate and precise manner; documents nursing actions taken and their effectiveness in nurse\'s notes or flow sheets.
• Recognizes significant behavioral and physiological changes and documents them and informs the registered nurse of significant patient care changes.
• Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
• Safely administers oral, enteral, PR, and topical medications.
• Makes contributions to patient and family teaching through the involvement of the family and significant others; documents patient and family teaching activities.
• Utilizes sound judgment in responding to patient emergency situations.
