Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) seeks a licensed practical nurse to provide nursing care and support for patients under the guidance of RNs and physicians. Responsibilities include patient procedures, monitoring, and documentation per hospital policy.

The ideal candidate is a Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing, maintains current licensure, and has IV therapy training plus 6–12 months of on-the-job experience. Kentucky practice is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Must maintain current licensure in state of practice.
• Successful completion of IV Therapy Course.
• Six months to one year on-the-job training required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing care and patient procedures as required.
• Observe, report and document changes in patient condition.
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic treatments as needed.
• Provide patient education and support to families.
• Respond to emergencies and assist RNs and physicians.
