Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Practical/Vocational Nurse to join the Vascular Interventional Radiology and Vein Solutions team in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, at Ascension Medical Group, clinic.

You will contribute to patient assessments, administer medications, perform lab tests, and educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care. Indiana nursing licensure is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the assessment of patients and assure the well-being of patients.
• Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
