Job summary

Promises / Washburn House in Worcester, MA seeks LPNs/LVNs for our detox and residential program. Full time and part-time shifts available across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts with pay from $35 to $38 per hour plus shift differential.

Responsibilities include prescribing and monitoring medications, patient assessments, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards. Requires active LVN/LPN license and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Current LVN/LPN license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral health or residential detox.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• Associate or Bachelor degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fulfillment of patient’s medical orders, address patient medical concerns.
• Triage medical concerns, administer medications and injections as directed by physician.
• Monitor client self-administration of medication.
• Screen all individuals for physical pain and refer for evaluation and management as appropriate.
• Serve as first line in medical emergencies and work with clinical team in psychiatric emergencies.
• Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections, as authorized.
• Record patient observations and activities in patient records per nursing standards and policy.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
• Oversee admission and discharge processes including pre-screening and health history collection.
• Maintain infection control and employee health program adherence.

JOB SUMMARY

The LPN / LVN provides professional, direct client care in a medical detoxification and residential program settings in accordance with established program procedures. This position collaborates with efforts of health team members and in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care and practice

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee fulfillment of patient’s medical orders, address patient medical concerns.

• Serve as first line in any medical emergency and works with the clinical team in incidences of psychiatric emergencies.
• Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections, as authorized.
• Record patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
• Oversee all aspects of admission/discharge process, including:

1. Pre-screen of new patients for appropriateness for admission.
2. Obtain physical assessment data and health history.
3. Inventory and caring for patients’ personal possessions.
4. Complete discharge paperwork.

• Provide quality assessments to client’s medication sheets and files to determine if clients are receiving appropriate medication in a timely manner, including proper destruction of medication.
• Follow all policies and procedures with regard to patient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
• Attend training on chemical dependency as required.
• Maintains and adheres to established infection control/employee health program.
• Maintain and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with current clients, family members, referrals sources and vendors.

Education:

• High school diplomaor equivalent required.

• Completion ofaccreditedLVN/LPN program,required.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’sdegree, preferred.

Certifications:

• Current, valid LVN or LPN license.

• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Experience:

• Minimum one (1) year experience in behavioral health or residential detoxification program setting isrequired.
