Job summary

The Recovery Village in Worcester, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional, direct client care within a medical detoxification and residential program. This role collaborates with a health team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

The RN will oversee medical orders, triage concerns, administer medications, and participate in admission/discharge processes while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high standards of nursing care.

Qualifications

  • RN license required (Current, valid)
  • Experience in behavioral health or residential detoxification preferred
  • BLS/CPR certification desirable

Responsibilities

  • Oversee medical orders and address medical concerns.
  • Triage and administer medications and injections as directed by physician.
  • Monitor patient self-administration of medications.
  • Serve as first line in medical emergencies and support psychiatric crises.
  • Perform lab procedures as authorized.
  • Record patient observations accurately and timely.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses and pharmacy staff.
  • Oversee admission and discharge processes including pre-screening and data collection.
  • Ensure proper medication documentation, storage, and destruction when needed.
  • Follow HIPAA and patient information protection policies.
  • Attend required training on chemical dependency and infection control.
  • Maintain knowledge of nursing procedures per policy and regulations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of accredited RN program
Associates or Bachelor's degree, preferred

We are currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift with rotating weekends required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse provides professional, direct client care ina medicaldetoxification and residential program settingsin accordance withestablished program procedures. This position provides, delegates,coordinatesand evaluates patient care through the collaborative efforts of health team members andin accordance withthe nursing process and standards of care and practice.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee fulfillment of patient’s medical orders, address patient medical concerns.
  • Triage medical concerns, administer medications and injections to patients as directed by directed physician.
  • Monitors Client self-administration of medication.
  • Serve as first line in any medicalemergency andworkswith the clinicalteam inincidences of psychiatric emergencies.
  • Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections, as authorized.
  • Record patient observations and activities in patient records accurately andtimelyin accordance withnursing standards and organizational policy andprocedure.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
  • Oversee all aspects of admission/discharge process, including:
  • Pre-screenofnew patients forappropriateness foradmission.
  • Obtain physical assessment data and health history.
  • Inventory and caring for patients’ personal possessions.
  • Complete discharge paperwork.
  • Provide quality assessments to client’s medication sheets and files todetermineif clients are receivingappropriate medicationin a timely manner, including proper destruction of medication.
  • Follow all policies and procedureswith regard topatient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
  • Attend training on chemical dependency asrequired.
  • Maintains and adheres toestablishedinfection control/employee healthprogram.
  • Maintain anddemonstratesa current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
  • Maintainappropriate professionalboundaries with current clients, family members,referralssources and vendors.
Education:
  • High school diplomaor equivalent
  • Completion ofaccreditedRN program,required.
  • Associates or Bachelor’sdegree, preferred.
Certifications:
  • Current, valid RN license.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
Experience:
  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years of experience in behavioral health or residential detoxification programsettingis preferred.
