Job summary

Journey, operating The Rosewood at Tybee Island, seeks an experienced RN to lead the care team in a licensed facility setting. You will supervise LPNs/LVNs and CNAs, ensuring holistic resident care and compliance with policies while coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Applicants must hold an active RN license, CPR certification, and have a nursing degree from an accredited program. LTC experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• RN license in practicing state
• Current CPR certification
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and CNAs in accordance with regulations and facility policies.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic resident care.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed by nursing staff.
• Participates in admissions, discharge and transfers of residents.
• Assesses changes in residents’ status and notifies physician and family, documenting.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical records and carries out orders as written.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
