Job summary

Journey in Kentucky seeks an RN to lead nursing staff in a long-term care setting. The role focuses on directing daily activities of LPNs/CNAs, promoting holistic resident care, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers, assess resident status, and document changes while ensuring physician orders are executed accurately. Ideal candidates hold an RN license, CPR certification, and a nursing degree, with prior long-term care experience

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of licensed practical/vocational nurse and CNAs in line with regulations and facility policies.
• Follow nursing model to promote holistic resident care.

• Assess changes in resident status and communicate with physicians and families; document accordingly.
• Transcribe physician orders to medical records and carry out orders as written.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
