Job summary

Journey Healthcare in St. Matthews, KY is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our care team. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, directing daily activities of licensed practical nurses and CNAs in accordance with regulations and facility policies.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing degree, an unrestricted RN license, and CPR certification. Prior long-term care experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Prior experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and CNAs in line with regulations and facility policies.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for residents.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed by nursing staff.
• Participates in admissions, discharges and transfers of residents as required.
• Assess changes in residents’ status, notify physician and family, and document accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical records and carries out orders as written.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
