Job summary

HCA Healthcare's LewisGale Physicians Valley View in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a compassionate patient-care team focused on high-quality outcomes. You will manage patient flow, take vitals, prepare for exams, document health information, coordinate tests and referrals, and support providers during visits.

Requirements include an LPN/LVN license and at least two years of hospital or clinic experience; commitment to safety, teamwork, and excellent patient

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse following state regulations.

Responsibilities

• You will manage efficient flow of patients including screening, preparation for exam, instructing patients on collection of any necessary samples/tests, and obtaining vitals
• You will notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments and instruct patients and families about medications and treatment instructions
• You will manage patient records including chart entries and posting lab/tests and examination results
• You will schedule tests and treatments including arranging referrals to a specialist and obtaining pre-authorizations when directed by the provider
• Assist provider with physical exams and in preparation for physicals
• Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients
• Control inventory and monitoring of supplies
• Record health history of patients and note abnormal conditions for physicians
• Respond to and screen telephone calls for referrals to nurse or physician
• Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow
