Job summary

LewisGale Physicians Valley View is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time day-shift role. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, efficient patient care in a supportive team environment.

You will handle patient screening, vitals, tests, and documentation, while coordinating with providers and pharmacy to ensure smooth care delivery. The role emphasizes patient education, accurate record-keeping, and effective communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Requires degree from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient patient flow: screen, prep for exams, collect samples/tests, obtain vitals.
• Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments; explain medications and instructions.
• Maintain patient records: chart entries and lab/exam results posting.
• Schedule tests/treatments and arrange referrals; obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
• Assist provider with physical exams and preparation for visits.
• Coordinate with pharmacy to order prescriptions and inform patients.
• Monitor inventory and supplies in the unit/clinic.
• Document health history and note abnormal findings for physicians.
• Respond to calls for referrals to nurse or physician; triage patients for department flow.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Full time (Monday - Friday, day shift), no nights, no on-call, no weekends, no holidays

Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LV) for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

• You will manage efficient flow of patients including screening, preparation for exam, instructing patients on collection of any necessary samples/tests, and obtaining vitals
• You will notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments and instruct patients and families about medications and treatment instructions
• You will manage patient records including chart entries and posting lab/tests and examination results
• You will schedule tests and treatments including arranging referrals to a specialist and obtaining pre-authorizations when directed by the provider
• Assist provider with physical exams and in preparation for physicals
• Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients
• Control inventory and monitoring of supplies
• Record health history of patients and note abnormal conditions for physicians
• Respond to and screen telephone calls for referrals to nurse or physician
• Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow

What Qualifications you will need:

• A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse following state regulations.
